This is Me

Lambago1

I’m Maia. I’m in my 40s and I’m loving it!

I love writing about practically all kinds of stuff.  I’m biased, though, to topics related to movies and television, books, poetry, theater arts, yoga, travel, teaching, and life’s roller coaster moments. And, of course, I love writing about Cagayan de Oro (CDO) – my hometown!

I love listening to people tell their stories, so I write a lot of short stories, too.

I work at home and go out for field work a lot. I cover CDO events and I meet a lot of interesting people. I support advocacies like the fight against violence on women, girls, the LGBTQ, and men; and HIV and AIDS awareness. I’m also active in theater, having been involved in the production of The Vagina Monologues since 2013. In 2015, I became a part of a group that staged Lima: The HIV Monologues. I used to write scripts, too.

I believe that I’m lucky because my work allows me to spend time with my husband and my family. I also get to do stuff that I love the most: writing.

Mimai Scribbles is like a walk through the green fields of life; there’s a lot about every day stuff that I love to write about, and some good things about my passions in life -including that of being a Kagay-anon. I also like sharing my unique experiences with beautiful people. So, if you’re willing to take a ride with me, hop on and join the fun!
